Since the debate over Canadian medications began in the United States, Total Care Pharmacy has played a key role in defending the safety and quality of drugs from Canada, and the right of every American to choose this option. A representative from our pharmacy has been invited to speak before the United States Congress on this topic - twice.
 Our representative described the many benefits of the Canadian prescription option, and called upon legislators to support those Canadian pharmacies offering enormous relief to seniors, and chronically ill or disabled people. He also called for legislation which would prevent large pharmaceutical firms from punishing people who shop for Canadian drugs online by stopping drug supplies to Canadian pharmacies. Our Role
In recent years, debate over medication costs in the U.S. has reached a fever pitch. Politicians, regulating bodies, pharmaceutical firms and consumers are caught in the controversy. Many are determined to find a solution within the United States. Many others believe Americans should be free to look for global solutions to this problem.
The debate rages on in government halls and law courts. Meanwhile, chronically ill, disabled, and elderly people are pushed into financial crises trying to pay for medications essential to their health.
Our Long-Term Goal
Currently, the United States government and regulatory boards allow American citizens to import up to a 90-day supply of medication for personal use. This 'personal use' allowance is not law - it is a compassionate policy intended to help those Americans working to source medications from Canada.
Total Care Pharmacy specializes in medications which help relieve chronic conditions and allow patients to sustain or improve their quality of life. Ultimately, we hope to assist governments, consumer associations and industry groups find a permanent solution for this health care crisis.
